• Weatherproofing: The outdoor camera is exposed to rain, dust, and direct sunlight. We mount it under a shade or use weatherproof housings to ensure it lasts for years.

• Distance Limits: Analog VDP kits have a maximum wiring distance limit. If your main gate is far from your indoor monitor, we will recommend an IP-based system to ensure the signal does not drop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I open the door from my mobile phone?
Yes. If you have an electronic smart lock (like an EM lock or a smart deadbolt) installed on your door, we can integrate it with the IP-based VDP. You can press a button on your phone app to unlock the door for a delivery or a guest, no matter where you are.

What happens if the power goes out?
The outdoor camera and indoor monitor require power to function. If there is a power cut, the system will turn off. To prevent this, we recommend connecting the VDP system to a small UPS or connecting it to your home inverter, which will keep it running for hours.

Does the video door phone record footage?
Standard kit-based VDPs do not record. However, we supply IP-based VDPs that support an SD card or NVR (Network Video Recorder). This allows the system to save a video clip of the visitor every time the bell is pressed, or continuously record the front door.

Can I install a VDP if I live on rent?
Yes. If your landlord does not allow drilling into the wall, we can install the outdoor camera using strong weatherproof adhesive mounts, and route the wiring through surface-mounted trunking. The installation is safe, secure, and easy to remove without damaging the walls.

What is the warranty on the equipment?
All Hikvision and CP Plus video door phones come with the standard manufacturer warranty (typically 1 to 2 years). We provide the official warranty card and GST invoice with every installation.
